Casino de Huesca

If you’re looking for a place where you can spend quality time, relax, and make new acquaintances, Casino de Huesca is the perfect choice. Casino de Huesca is not a typical casino where you gamble for money, but it is a cultural and social association that is housed in a beautiful modernist building on Plaza Navarra. Casino de Huesca was founded in 1877 as Círculo Oscense, a liberal club that gathered people from different backgrounds and interests. In 1901, the construction of the current building began, which is the work of architect Ildefonso Bonells and was completed in 1910.

The Casino de Huesca building is one of the most important examples of modernism in Huesca and stands out for its rich facade, adorned with ceramic tiles, columns, balconies, and sculptures. The entrance to the building is preceded by an elegant wrought iron gate, which is the work of artist José Borruel. Inside the building, you can admire various rooms and spaces that have retained their original decor and furniture. Some of them are:

The Red Room, or Sala Roja, which is the largest and most representative room in the building. It is a ballroom that has high ceilings, crystal chandeliers, red walls, and parquet floors. In this room, various events take place, such as concerts, exhibitions, conferences, weddings, and other celebrations.

The Blue Room, or Sala Azul, which is a dining room where you can taste typical dishes from Huesca and Aragon. This room has blue walls, wooden furniture, and paintings with regional motifs. Here you can also play billiards, chess, or cards.

The Reading Room, or Sala de Lectura, which is a place where you can read newspapers, magazines, or books from the Casino library. This room has green walls, leather armchairs, and a fireplace. In this room, you can also use the internet or watch television.

The Game Room, or Sala de Juegos, which is a place where you can play various board games, such as Monopoly, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, or Pictionary. This room has colorful walls, carpets, and shelves with games. In this room, you can also organize birthday parties for children.

Casino de Huesca is open to everyone who wants to sign up as members of the association. The membership fee is 15 euros per month and gives the right to use all the services and activities that the Casino offers. Casino de Huesca also organizes various courses, workshops, excursions, and meetings, which aim to promote culture, education, and social integration.

Casino de Huesca is not only a monument of great architectural value, but also a place where you can spend quality time, relax, and make new acquaintances. It is a place that combines tradition and modernity, and offers something for everyone.
