Museum of Miniatures in Guadalest

One of the most unusual attractions in Guadalest is the Museum of Miniatures, where you can admire amazing works of art made by local artist Antonio Marco. The museum is located in the center of the town, next to the church and castle.

The Museum of Miniatures contains over 200 exhibits, which depict scenes from everyday life, historical buildings, animals, plants, and many others. Each exhibit is so small that you need to use magnifying glasses or microscopes to see it well. Some of them are so tiny that they fit on the head of a pin, a grain of rice, or a fly’s wing. Among the most impressive miniatures are:

    • A replica of St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican, which is 2.5 cm long and 1.5 cm high, and inside there are 32 figures of people and 12 angels.
    • A replica of the Eiffel Tower, which is 3.5 cm high and is made of 1.5 grams of gold.
    • A replica of the painting “La Maja Desnuda” by Francisco Goya, which is painted on a fly’s wing and is 0.5 mm long and 0.3 mm wide.

  • A replica of the painting “The Third of May 1808” by Francisco Goya, which is painted on a grain of rice and is 1.5 mm long and 0.8 mm wide.
  • A replica of the Statue of Liberty, which is 1.8 mm high and is made of 0.2 grams of silver.

The Museum of Miniatures is not only a display of the artist’s skills and patience but also a fascinating journey through the world in micro-scale. This is a place that will surely delight both children and adults. The Museum of Miniatures is an unforgettable experience that is worth seeing during a visit to Guadalest.
