Museum of Nativity Scenes and Doll Houses in Guadalest

If you are a lover of folk art and traditional toys, you cannot miss the Antonio Marco Museum, which is located near the square where the church and castle in Guadalest stand.

The Antonio Marco Museum is a private collection that contains over 1200 exhibits, among which nativity scenes and dollhouses dominate. Here you can see:

  • Nativity scenes from different countries and eras, made from various materials, such as wood, ceramics, paper, glass, metal, cork, or lace. Some of them are very detailed and realistic, others are more stylized and symbolic.
  • Dollhouses from the 19th and 20th centuries, in various styles and sizes, with rich furnishings and details. Some of them are replicas of real buildings, such as the Palace of Versailles, Sherlock Holmes’ house, or Barbie’s house.
  • Toys from different eras and cultures, such as dolls, teddy bears, cars, trains, soldiers, board games, puzzles, musical instruments, and many others.

The Antonio Marco Museum is not only a display of the history and art of toys but also a sentimental journey to childhood. This is a place that will make you feel like a child again and discover the magic and charm of play.

The author of most of the nativity scenes and dollhouses in the museum is Antonio Marco, a local artist and collector, who passionately created these works for over 40 years. Antonio Marco is also the creator of the Museum of Miniatures and the Museum of Micro Giants, which are located opposite the Museum of Nativity Scenes and Doll Houses. His works are recognized as unique and original, and his talent and patience arouse admiration and respect. Antonio Marco is proud to present his collection and tell about it to visitors. This is an extraordinary opportunity to get to know the artist and his inspirations.
