Museum of Micro Giants in Guadalest

If the Museum of Miniatures surprises with its precision and meticulousness, the Museum of Micro Giants delights with its originality and creativity. This is another museum where you can admire the works of Manuel Ussà, this time on a completely different theme. The museum is located in the square at the entrance to the town, opposite the Museum of Miniatures.

The Museum of Micro Giants presents over 100 exhibits, which combine elements of micro and macro. These are objects that are usually very small or very large, but here they have the opposite scale. For example, you can see:

    • A flea dressed in a cycling outfit and riding a bicycle, which is 2 cm long and 1 cm high.
    • A self-portrait of the artist engraved on a grain of sand, which is 0.2 mm long and 0.1 mm wide.
    • A book with the Bible written on a hair, which is 0.5 mm long and 0.3 mm wide.

  • A ring with a diamond, which is 2.5 cm in diameter and 1.5 cm high, and the diamond weighs 0.5 grams.
  • A bullfighting arena built on the head of a pin, which is 1.5 mm in diameter and 0.8 mm high, and inside there are 6 bulls and 6 torreadors.

The Museum of Micro Giants is not only a display of the artist’s talent and imagination, but also a fun and educational lesson about proportions and perspective. This is a place that forces you to change the way you look at reality and appreciate the beauty both in the small and in the large. The Museum of Micro Giants is another gem in the cultural offer of Guadalest, which should not be missed.
